How do I know if the text book is current? Don't they expire? I bought a bunch and was later told the professor decides what book is used in his class.

It pays to be friendly to the friends
Went to a couple local library sales was always friendly and courteous with. Picked up some while I'm there
One of the ladies talked to me at the second sale I attended at the Same library. She said she liked that I was always friendly and nice and invited me to come back Friday morning and look through all their donations for the week. I'm the only buyer in the room and now I go every Friday morning and scan and buy from their weeks donations
And I just leave a cash donation each time

You can look up local libraries…
    Look under events
And they will often list upcoming sales at your local libraries

Having a sense of humor with aggressive buyers is the way to go. Some sales do not allow scanners and will throw you out if caught using one.

Raiken how do you feel about selling text books that only bring in 50-150% profit? I just started sourcing and focused on text books, I have acquired about $1000 in books and only purchased books that would double my money, of course several of those were alot higher then that. All of this was done by market place and offer up so I was negotiating and then just picking the book up. Am I making the right choice or should I be sourcing regular books at thrift stores that are only gonna cost me .99-$2.00 but bring in a higher ROI?

I have the opposite strategy. I go the second the price drops to $2 bag and I load up. But I have no competition. I think the next one I’ll do both. Do the presale and go back again when they drop to $2 bag. You can fit ALOT of books in those bags!

No boxes or grocery carts allowed because of a rude bookseller. They blocked a sweet elderly lady in. I moved the cart it was set outside the sale. Please be nice I've been at this 30 yearz or more. Don't be rude
